NESE is an interdisciplinary engineering program related to the efficient, safe, environmentally friendly and economical extraction, conversion, transportation, storage and use of energy, with an aim to increase efficiency whilst minimizing negative effects on humans, nature and the environment.

The NESE program at Xiamen University is supported by College of Energy, one of China’s top-rated new energy technology research institutions for education, R&D, and technology transfer. We are supported by a strong faculty team, consisting of high-calibre researchers and engineering experts in the fields of clean chemical energy, nuclear energy, solar and wind energy, bio energy, energy economics, and energy efficiency engineering, all dedicated to high quality R&D in energy science and technologies.

We are in close cooperation with many leading universities such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michigan University, and University of California – Berkeley, and major industry players including Terra Power which was founded by Mr. Bill Gates, SNPTC (State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation), and CGNPC (China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation), as well as Chinese government agencies such as the NEA (National Energy Administration).

Our program at Xiamen University Malaysia Campus aims to develop highly flexible professionals with solid specialty knowledge, who are ready for employment in energy related industries or for pursuing scholastic endeavors in the same or related fields. At the end of the program, students will be equipped with core theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the analysis, modeling, evaluation, design, development, and implementation of energy technology.
