Medieval and Medievalism Studies is the study of the representational, performative, intellectual and material culture of the period known as the Middle Ages: c. AD 500-1500.

You'll examine how contemporary attitudes towards the Middle Ages are portrayed in concepts of myths, heroes, magic, fantasy, science fiction, crafts and role-playing clubs, films such as the Harry Potter series, television series such as Game of Thrones, and video games such as Assassin's Creed.

Program Highlights

This is a flexible degree that you take in combination with another Arts program.

Start your first year with a course on Game of Thrones or Harry Potter.

We have student exchange arrangements with the University of Durham in England and the University of Poitiers in France.

Our Medieval Students' Society is one of the strongest student groups on campus and organizes events such as archery outings and medieval potluck dinners.
