Wichita State’s Bachelor of Arts (BA) in communication - integrated marketing communication (IMC) emphasis - combines classroom and hands-on learning in the researching, creating, writing, editing and organizing of marketing campaigns. IMC graduates are well prepared for careers in advertising, public relations, marketing and related creative media.

Curriculum

In addition to taking the communication core courses required for all Elliott School students, you’ll gain skills in marketing-communication strategy, public information writing, advertising copywriting, IMC campaigns and more.

Students majoring in communication must maintain a 2.500 grade point average (overall and in the major), complete a minimum of 39 credit hours in communication, including 21 credit hours in the communication core. At least 18 credit hours must be in the structured emphasis area.

Careers

A communication degree from Wichita State combines the classroom knowledge and hands-on learning that opens doors to careers in many fields - from public relations and journalism to editing and education.
