Course structure

This course requires successful completion of 240 credit points which includes eight core units, fourteen key program units taken in an engineering specialisation (Civil, Electrical and Mechanical) and two elective units at level 2 above, which can be chosen from any discipline available at Sydney City Campus. Students must also undertake 12 weeks of industrial experience.

Course overview

The Bachelor of Engineering Science is offered as an entry program to a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). It is also offered as a three-year exit course for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).

The course structure, core units and electives are similar to the first three years of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) course.

The Bachelor of Engineering Science is offered with key programs in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

Recommended sequence

At Sydney City Campus, you can complete your three year bachelorÕs degree in as little as two years and enter the workforce sooner. A bachelorÕs degree usually consists of 24 units. With our flexible academic calendar, you can study 12 units in one year over three sessions. However, we recommend that you undertake a maximum of 3 units per session so that your study load is not too demanding. You will have less downtime between sessions so a lighter study load will help you to have a better chance at passing all of your units.

Pathway option

Pathway options are available for students who may not qualify for direct entry into a degree program at Western Sydney University. Complete a diploma at SIBT and enter the second year of your university studies.
