The air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the places we live, work and play all have major impacts on our health and well-being. The tetramer major Environmental Health, when combined with the major Environmental Futures in a Bachelor of Science, will equip you to explore the diverse range of natural and built-environment challenges that confront us, from the mitigation of human health impacts of global climate change through to the more localized issues of air and water quality, waste management, food security, environmental noise and healthy communities. The major areas of study addressed within the major include air pollution; community studies; emergency management; environmental regulation and policy; environmental monitoring; environmental planning; environmental protection; epidemiology; food safety; noise, occupational environment; risk assessment; sustainable environmental management; toxicology; urban development and water pollution.

Students must have Australian Year 12 Higher School Certificate in or outside Australia; International Baccalaureate in Australia; New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), Level 3. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic version): 6.5 overall score, minimum 6.0 in each subtest; TOEFL internet-based score: Total score 82, Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50; Successful completion of three years (Gao San) with a minimum score for entry to Second Tier universities in China from the National Entrance Examination (Gao Kao) cut off thresholds for Science and the relevant province, or successful completion of the first year of a Bachelor’s degree at a recognized university.
