If nursing is your calling, this degree will provide you with both the theory and clinical skills to realise your ambition. Not only will you undertake clinical placements, our state-of-the-art clinical simulation technology will prepare you for working on a hospital ward before you even set foot in one. Western is ranked number one for Nursing in Australia (CWUR 2017), and in the world's Top 100 (QS Top Universities 2020).

Western’s Bachelor of Nursing uses a primary healthcare framework for teaching, which means your study will combine inquiry-based learning and evidence-based practice. Our nursing degree also shows you how to apply physical and behavioural sciences to nursing, while you explore the best ways in which to care for individuals, families, and groups from diverse backgrounds.

Develop your clinical skills in one of our innovative clinical practice units, located at four of our campuses, and benefit from our strong partnerships with local health districts in Greater Western Sydney.

Over the course of your degree, you will also be placed in a range of real-world health and community settings, including aged-care facilities, hospitals, GP practices, and community health teams.

Students must have Australian Year 12 Higher School Certificate in or outside Australia; International Baccalaureate in Australia; New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), Level 3. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic version): 6.5 overall score, minimum 6.0 in each subtest; TOEFL internet-based score: Total score 82, Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50; Successful completion of three years (Gao San) with a minimum score for entry to Second Tier universities in China from the National Entrance Examination (Gao Kao) cut off thresholds for Science and the relevant province, or successful completion of the first year of a Bachelor’s degree at a recognized university.
