This degree combines study with hands-on experience and allows you to specialise in one or two specialisations in health. With opportunities to specialise in the areas of health promotion, health services management, therapeutic recreation and public health. The program is designed to give you the skills you need to work with clients and develop great services which promote health and well-being.

The Bachelor of Health Science gives you practical, hands-on experience in the field of health science. With the flexibility to switch between specialisations at the end of your first year. Studying health science is also an ideal pathway to a range of other health degrees through Western’s internal course transfer. As part of the program, you will gain real-world experience through work placements in a diverse range of health settings, allowing you to increase your expertise and employability. Students must have Australian Year 12 Higher School Certificate in or outside Australia; International Baccalaureate in Australia; New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), Level 3. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic version): 6.5 overall score, minimum 6.0 in each subtest; TOEFL internet-based score: Total score 82, Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50; Successful completion of three years (Gao San) with a minimum score for entry to Second Tier universities in China from the National Entrance Examination (Gao Kao) cut off thresholds for Science and the relevant province, or successful completion of the first year of a Bachelor’s degree at a recognized university.
