Programs in CCIT integrate theory and practice into a variety of dynamic programs with outstanding professors, staff and facilities. Consider areas such as the evolution of language; the impact of the printing press, television, recordings and computers on society and culture; and how technology, particularly digital technology, is shaping human communication. Our programs are highly flexible and facilitate interdisciplinary study across areas that are constantly evolving.

The programs offered by the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information & Technology (ICCIT) provide you with unique educational experience through a rich set of courses that range across a variety of disciplines and allows you to take advantage of the exceptional research and teaching resources of both UTM and either Sheridan College or the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto.

Participate in the ICCIT Internship Program. Each placement increases knowledge, ethical awareness, professionalism and work portfolio in preparation for graduate school and/or employment. Students come to better understand their own aspirations as well as developing their teamwork, problem-solving and communications skills. Internships provide wonderful networking opportunities in the media, communications and digital technology sectors.

Internships have been in television and radio, advertising and design companies, and web development.

Interns have worked at Much music, Bell Media Group, CBC, Rogers TV, Service Canada, City of Toronto, RBC Capital Markets, Sick Kids Foundation, Nestle Canada, and the Research Innovation Centre.

Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL Paper-based Test total score of 600 + 5.0 on TWE; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 85, with no part score below 80; Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) score of 70 and no part below 60; Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTEST) score of 4.5, and no part below 4; a minimum grade of C in the Cambridge English Proficiency/Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) or a minimum grade of B in the Cambridge English Advanced/Certificate in Advanced English (CAE).
