**Why choose this course**Our forward-thinking School of Veterinary Medicine and School of Biosciences and Medicine have strong links within the profession and a growing reputation for world-leading research.You’ll benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, including our new Innovation for Health Learning Laboratory and our £45m School of Veterinary Medicine building, which has its own Veterinary Clinical Skills Centre and one of Europe’s largest and most sophisticated veterinary pathology centres.Our course has also been accredited by the Royal Society of Biology.**What you will study**Our unique BSc (Hons) Veterinary Biosciences course offers specialist training in the biology and research which forms the basis for veterinary science and its associated disciplines.Our extensive network of partners in clinical practice, industry and research will offer you exceptional learning opportunities, enabling you to explore all aspects of veterinary science, including animal nutrition, veterinary public health and wildlife.You’ll graduate equipped for a diverse range of careers in the veterinary profession, including:- Biosciences research- Diagnostics- Vaccine development- Animal welfare and nutrition- Animal infectious diseases- Food safety- Veterinary ecology.**Foundation year**The Veterinary Biosciences BSc with foundation has an additional year of study designed to support your transition on to latter years of the course. You will study full-time for one year at foundation level, and after successfully completing it you will be ready to move on to the next three years of the course.
