About this course

Explore early human development and the biology and function of stem cells on this research-focused master's degree. Stem cell therapies have a great potential for treating many degenerative diseases. The University of Southampton is a leader of innovative research into the use of stem cell medical treatments for:

fully equipped cell culture laboratories

You'll take two 16-week research projects. As an MRes student you’ll spend more time on your projects and less on the taught part of the course.

Students need to have a Bachelors degree awarded by a high ranked Chinese university with an average grade of at least 70-88%, dependent on awarding institution. Most of our Masters programmes require you to achieve equivalent to a 2.1. X1 75% or 2.8 GPA, X2 78% or 3.1 GPA, X3 80% or 3.25 GPA, Y1 78% or 3.1 GPA, Y2 83% or 3.5 GPA, Z 88% or 3.7 GPA. IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.5 in reading and writing, 6.0 in listening and speaking.
