Learn from the experts! The University of Regina's Petroleum Systems Engineering program is one of the largest accredited petroleum engineering programs in North America.

You will learn to evaluate oil and gas reserves, design well drilling facilities, analyze reservoir performance for production optimization, perform advanced reservoir simulation and visualization, develop new techniques to enhance oil recovery and conduct modern reservoir management.

You will have access to the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC) labs to conduct research in many other areas of interest to the oil and gas industry in Canada.

Sample Courses:

Petroleum Treating Operations, Enhanced Oil Recovery Methods, Well Logging and Formation Evaluation, Well Testing, Drilling Engineering, Petroleum Waste Management, Secondary Oil Recovery.

Career Opportunities:

Graduates find jobs as exploration engineers, well logging engineers, petrophysicists, drilling engineers, completions engineers, mud engineers and exploitation engineers.

English Language Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - Internet Based: Overall 83; Reading: 20; Listening: 20; Speaking: 20; Writing: 20; IELTS - Academic: Overall Band score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0; CanTest (Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees): Listening 4.5, Reading 4.5, Writing 4.0; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 59, No area with less than 59; CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment): 60; MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery): 85; CELT (Comprehensive English Language Test): 60. GCSE/IGCSE/GCE O' Level English, English Language, or English as a Second Language with a minimum grade of '6' (grade of B prior to 2017) or GCE A/AS/AICE Level English or English Language with a minimum grade of 'C'.
