In the Chemical Engineering program at UNB, you’ll learn how to transform raw materials into useful products while protecting the environment, managing resources, and meeting strict health and safety standards. You’ll also explore chemical processes that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase safety and security. Examples include the development of more affordable drugs, more efficient fuels, and better pollution controls. In other words, you’ll explore ways to make the world a better place.

Chemical Engineering is available as a major in the Bachelor of Science in engineering program. Two option programs within the technical electives stream are available: Energy Conversion Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.

UNB’s Chemical Engineering program consists of award-winning professors in teaching and research as well as students who have been recognized nationally for the quality of their senior design projects. In addition, our small class sizes mean greater interaction between you, your instructors, and your peers.

High school students applying to undergraduate programs at the University of New Brunswick. China: Senior Middle Two and Three results as well as a graduation certificate. Students may also be asked to report scores from the National College Entrance Examination grades of 70% or above. International students require the following English language proficiency minimum scores for direct entry into most academic programs: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 85, CAEL 60, or Pearson Vue Test 59.
