The MS program provides an opportunity for practicing K-8 teachers to focus on advanced study of pedagogy, curriculum development, and content in elementary and middle school settings. The focus is on teacher leadership. Emphases for the MS include math education, science education to STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education. Thesis and non-thesis options are available.

Our coursework is carefully designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of standards, research and pedagogy to be effective learners. Through this degree program, teachers can refine and improve their instruction built upon the most recent research. This program also prepares students to serve in leadership capacities in their schools, districts and communities.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees focus on the application of theory in curriculum, teaching, and learning with an emphasis on research. A minimum of 36 credits, with 15 credits at the 700 level are required. A professional project, portfolio, professional paper and/or thesis will be required for completion of the degree. The specific area of emphasis determines the designation of either M.A. or M.S.

Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution. Eligibility for admission with a 3-year bachelor's degree are determined on a case by case basis. Minimum grade point average (on a 4.0 scale): 2.75 for a master’s degree. TOEFL: 550 (paper) or 79 (internet), IELTS: 6.5 (academic version).
