Through our rigorous program of hands-on theatre experiences, refine your artistic techniques and develop lifelong skills such as creativity, confidence, and discipline. Courses in theatre history and theory provide a comprehensive understanding of drama’s essential role in society.

Our innovative program highlights the connections between performance, directing and devised (collaborative and improvised) theatre, ensuring appreciation for historic traditions and anticipating future trends.

Explore courses in acting, voice and movement, and discover a range of performance techniques, including theatre for young audiences, improvisation and physical theatre. Enrich your classroom experiences by performing in a season of exhilarating theatre productions that range in style and scale.

You have full access to co-operative education, international exchanges, independent and applied studies as well as volunteer opportunities. uLethbridge is the only university in Alberta to offer co-operative education to all majors in the university, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Performances

Participate in a dynamic season of theatre activities, including Mainstage productions supervised by professors, the student-run TheatreXtra series, and an array of practical workshops, play readings, public forums, and special events.

Senior Secondary School Certificate of Graduation and an average grade of 72% or higher (where 60% is the passing grade). English Language Requirements: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) taken within the last two years, with minimum scores of: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL and 4.0 on the Test of Written English (TWE); or 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT), with minimum scores of 16 in each of Listening, Reading, and Speaking, and a minimum score of 18 in Writing; Academic International English Languages Testing System (IELTS) test, taken within the last two years, with a minimum overall score of 6.0, and a minimum 6.0 in each band; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic score, taken within the last two years, with a minimum overall score of 54; Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Assessment, taken within the last two years, with a minimum overall score of 60, with a minimum 50 in each of Listening, Reading, and Speaking, and 60 in Writing; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE), with a minimum score of ‘C’; Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE), with a minimum score of at ‘C’; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB), with a minimum overall score of 80, with a minimum 76 in each component, including the Speaking test.
