Course description

The processing of data and signals digitally together with the communication of such information over fixed and wireless links is of major importance in many aspects of modern engineering. This course will provide you with a good understanding of digital signal processing, radio systems and digital communications together with topics covering real time implementation of the signal processing techniques. The theoretical aspects of the course will be reinforced with extensive 'hands-on' exercises.

This degree is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Teaching and learning

Teaching methods include lectures and seminars supported by practical and lab work. Assessment is a mix of open and closed exams and continuous assessment. Your dissertation will be assessed separately.

Careers and employability

You have the option of choosing to study this course 'with industry' in which a paid industrial placement forms part of your course, including your overall assessment through reflective learning. Whether or not you opt for the ‘with industry’ variant of the course, it is designed to give you the tools to work towards a career in a wide variety of fields in the engineering and technical industries.

Students must have completed a three-year college diploma from a Chinese university, you will need to take an accepted one-year Pre-Masters course or upgrade your diploma to a Bachelor’s degree before applying for a Master’s degree. English Language Requirements: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
