From 2021, we are making some exciting changes to our BCom: real-world case studies, applied skills and innovative workshops that mix disciplines will be an ever-greater focus, right from the start of your first year.

Programme structure

A BCom with a double major is a three-year degree programme. You will be required to complete a minimum of 24 courses (360 points). In your first year, you will complete a set of core Stage 1 courses and further courses depending on the major(s) you are planning to take.

A double major requires careful planning.

You will also be required to select two General Education papers – this is a distinctive feature of our University’s degree designed to broaden your education.

If you wish to major in Accounting you will need to enrol in ACCTG 102 in your first year.

If you wish to major in Economics you will need to enrol in ECON 152 in your first year.

If you wish to major in Finance you will need to enrol in ACCTG 102 and MATHS 108 (or 150 or 153) in your first year.

Business Analytics

Business Analytics involves transforming data into valuable insights, enabling businesses to make effective decisions and gain competitive advantages.

Subject overview

In all spheres of personal and professional life, data is increasingly being created and used in digital forms. A major in Business Analytics will equip you with the skills to work with digital data effectively, using state-of-the-art information tools. You will learn how to source and transform data, gain insights using predictive modelling, visualise data and convey compelling data stories.
