Combining business subjects with the study of the Irish language, literature and culture, this degree equips you with the skills and knowledge to work in a fast-changing global business environment.

The BComm (International) with Irish provides you with an opportunity to not only learn about the dynamics of the relationship between business and language/culture, but also to learn practical skills for the work environment which enhance your academic development.

Year 3 of the course is spent either on work placement in a company in Ireland or studying in Scotland.

Skills and Careers Information

You will develop your spoken and written Irish, both here at UCC and while on work placement in Year 3. Those who study in Scotland in Year 3 have the opportunity to study Gaelic at beginners’ level.

You will develop your written and spoken communication skills in English in the various business subjects you study. You will develop skills in analysis, essay-writing, presentations and IT. You will also learn about the importance of language and culture in the context of business.

Graduates have entered business, the accountancy profession and the teaching profession, and many have undertaken postgraduate study.
