Quality Nurses are in great demand all over the world. With the rapid and technological advancement, there is also an increased demand for caring, highly knowledgeable and clinically competent nurses. There are ample opportunities for promotion, continuing education and self development.

UTAR's Bachelor of Nursing Programme is approved by the Malaysian Nursing Board and is nationally accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.

This programme aims to equip students with a strong foundation in the principles, theories and practices of modern nursing. This programme provides tertiary education that creates graduates who are strongly knowledge-based with the ability to think critically, perform competently in relevant skills, adapt and innovate to challenges and opportunities in the nursing profession. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are eligible to sit for the Malaysian Nursing Board Examination to be licensed for practice as a Registered Nurse.

With the rising demand in health care, there are great needs for adequate and qualified nursing graduates to fill up vacancies in many areas such as:

UTAR welcomes applicants with any of the following qualifications for entry to Bachelor's Honours Degree Programme: Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM); Unified Examination Certificate (UEC); A-Levels; South Australian Matriculation (SAM); Canadian Pre-University (CPU). Entry with Other Qualifications: Applicants with qualifications other than those described above, for example, a Diploma from a college/institution/polytechnic may also apply for admission to UTAR programmes. English Language Requirements: International English Language Testing System ( IELTS ): 5.0; Internet-based Testing (IBT) TOEFL: 42; Cambridge English: 154; Pearson Test of English (PTE): 47; Malaysia University English Test (MUET): Band 3.
