Global economic development plays a crucial role in driving activity and financial markets in multinational organizations. Globalization creates growing businesses, trade, investments as well as economic activities and opportunities among countries.

These international economic opportunities between countries are intertwined and can affect other countries positively or negatively. Global economics is a new and recent field in economics whereby economic behaviors and decisions are strategically analyzed and explained.

The UTAR Bachelor of Economics (Honours) Global Economics Programme aims at examining the workings of the economics in the global environmental context. Students of this programme will be equipped with the analytical skills and strategic knowledge in discussing world economic issues, international trade trends and global investment opportunities. These knowledge and skills are highly sought after by organizations especially multinational companies involving in global trade and investment.

UTAR welcomes applicants with any of the following qualifications for entry to Bachelor's Honours Degree Programme: Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM); Unified Examination Certificate (UEC); A-Levels; South Australian Matriculation (SAM); Canadian Pre-University (CPU). Entry with Other Qualifications: Applicants with qualifications other than those described above, for example, a Diploma from a college/institution/polytechnic may also apply for admission to UTAR programmes. English Language Requirements: International English Language Testing System ( IELTS ): 5.0; Internet-based Testing (IBT) TOEFL: 42; Cambridge English: 154; Pearson Test of English (PTE): 47; Malaysia University English Test (MUET): Band 3.
