Introduction

The field of microbiology is a very important career field that supports the rapid development of various industries in Malaysia. Among those involved are the processing and manufacturing industries in the field of nutrition, medicine, environment and agriculture. Increased knowledge in microbiology is crucial in finding solutions to the latest health issues such as the dengue epidemic, Ebola and Zika, and the emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria.

The Bachelor of Science (Honors) Microbiology Program has been offered by the Biotechnology Faculty and Bimolecular Sciences since June 2004 and is now known as the Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with Honours to produce graduates who can meet the needs of the country's skilled manpower in the field of microbiology either in the public, private sector or Self-employed.

Program Learning Outcomes

After graduating from this program:

Can master knowledge in microbiological disciplines.

To have sufficient technical skills in microbiology as well as to master the information and communication technology (ict) skills.

Can think critically, efficiently solve problems and provide effective services to support the development and development of national biotechnology through the scl method.

Can communicate efficiently and effectively to work in groups through the scl method.

Can apply social accountability to efforts to improve the well-being of the society and the nation.

Can practice a high level of professionalism, brilliant culture, ethical and positive attitude and adapt to the competitive work environment.

Can efficiently manage information systematically and will be able to apply knowledge and skills for lifelong learning.

Able to manage and have entrepreneurial characteristics that can be used for the commercialization of the country's biosphere.

Able to lead, understand and act as commander.
