The Department offers a four-year program leading to the bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. This degree is at the honors level and is recognized as a professional degree by the Malaysian Public Services Department.

A semester system is followed and there are two semesters a year, starting in July and December, each of 15 weeks duration. Students need to complete 100 credits of coursework which includes professional practical training (3 credits) and the completion of an independent study Project (6 credits). One credit is the equivalent of a one-hour lecture or a three hour practical class per week. To graduate in three years the workload for each semester is approximately 15-18 credits. This normally involves taking five to seven subjects per semester.

The graduates will have the opportunity to build their career in various fields. Upon graduation, those who have the Bachelor of Environmental Science and Technology will be able to pursue any one of the following careers:

Applicant who is interested in pursuing his/ her studied at UPM must fulfil the following: To have received a National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level or the equivalent of 12 years of basic education) with the grade 80% and above. or a Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00. English Language Requirements: IELTS - Minimum overall score of 6.0 for TESL/English or 5.5 for other programmes; or TOEFL - Minimum overall score of 550 for TESL/English or 500 for other programmes; or Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) - Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) - enrolled at ELS-UPM - Level 109 English or Level 107 for other programmes.
