The programme aims to provide students with an excellent foundation in the core technical competencies of the disciplines: thermal and fluid sciences, solid mechanics and materials and dynamics and control. Built upon these strengths is a very strong focus on application of these technical abilities through our design and manufacturing project oriented courses.

This programme has obtained full accreditation from MQA and the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)

Career Information

Mechanical Engineering is a profession involving design, development, production, management and maintenance of machinery to fulfil the needs of modern living.

As a mechanical engineer you would design and specify mechanical machinery, components and tools. You could also be in charge of the technicians that will install and maintain the machinery and components. You might work in a range of industries, for example manufacturing, construction, power, medicine and health, transport and sports. This job requires you to be good at communicating, giving presentations and also being creative in coming up with new ideas.

All international students must complete at least 12 years of education and obtained certificate in Higher Secondary School equivalent to ‘A’ Level for degree programmes. Senior High School Examination. English language proficiency requirements: IELTS - 5.0 or equivalent; TOEFL- 525 (PBT); 167 (CBT); 120 (IBT) and students who have attained the above test of proficiency in English are exempted from taking any English Placement Test (EPT) / English Preparatory Programs (EPP) courses.
