Build a strong foundation in basic and applied human nutrition as you delve into a broad range of topics, from community nutrition to how our bodies actually metabolize and use nutrients. You’ll explore rich opportunities to integrate your nutrition with your interests in other areas within the fields of health and science, such as population and public health nutrition, and international nutrition.

In Nutritional Sciences, you’ll delve into the human and animal digestive systems, the function of nutrients in health and disease, nutritional requirements and recommendations, and the effects of production and distribution systems on food availability.

The program will equip you to continue you education at Masters and Ph.D. levels, to pursue a career in nutrition or health research, and in research- and development-related industries, or to further your studies in the health professions, including veterinary sciences.

Experiential learning and research

You’ll enhance your classroom learning with real-world experience through direct studies and co-op placements. You’ll also participate in group projects and research opportunities focused on relevant and current topics in the nutritional sciences, strengthening your capacities for scientific writing and oral presentation, among other skills.

Your future

Many graduates of the Nutritional Sciences program go on to careers in the fields of population and public health nutrition, health promotion, and the health sciences. Opportunities include positions in naturopathy, fitness, food service, publishing, pharmaceuticals, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation sciences, and veterinary medicine.

Applicants must have Gaokao examinations results provided by CQV If you are not writing the Gaokao, you must submit one of the following standardized examination results: SAT, ACT, Advanced Placement exam results, A Levels, or International Baccalaureate Certificates. Equivalent Entry: Huikao or Academic proficiency test results provided by China Qualifications Verification (CQV). Other English language requirements: CAE(Certificate in Advanced English ): Minimum score of B; CAEL(Canadian Academic English Language assessment): Overall score of 70; TOEFL Paper-based test with the TWE (Test of Written English): ): Minimum score of 55 each for Reading, Listening, and Writing (4.0 on TWE); MELAB(Michigan English Language Assessment Battery with the MELAB Oral Interview): 85 final score with 3 in the speaking test; PTE(Pearson Test of English (Academic)): Overall score: 65, Reading: 60, Listening: 60, Writing: 60, Speaking: 60.
