The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Texas A&M University-Commerce is committed to experiential and pragmatic learning with rigorous educational programs, courses, and experiences enriched by quality instruction. We offer diverse, high quality farm and ranch enterprises that create opportunities for teaching and scholarly activities. We foster positive relationships among our faculty, staff and students and maintain a strong public presence on campus, in the community, and throughout the state and agricultural industry. Students are prepared to become competent professionals through the sharing and discovery of knowledge across the varied fields of agriculture.

Texas A&M University-Commerce has one of the top agricultural programs in Texas. Our animal science majors receive a strong combination of basic and applied courses and are well prepared for careers in the livestock industry, veterinary medicine, the equine industry. A large percentage of our graduates are accepted into veterinary schools across the nation.

Our college also recognizes that our nation needs quality high school agricultural teachers for our high schools if we wish to live in a country with a safe and abundant food supply as well as a high quality of life. Thus, we have established the strongest agricultural and family education curriculum in this region of the country. Our plant science curriculum matches any university of our size. We have professors who are experts in horticulture, agronomy, and crop physiology with classes that cover all aspects of plants.

Our professors have ambitious research agendas that solve problems on the farm, increase efficiency for the nursery industry, and improve agricultural worker safety. We have strong collaborations with Texas AgriLife Research and Extension including partnerships with faculty at Amarillo, Beaumont, College Station, Dallas, Lubbock, and Overton. All of our employees are committed to delivering relevant academic packages to our students, and we continue to seek ways as to how we might improve our product.
