The inclusive elementary and special education program is the first of its kind at a major research university in the United States.

Work alongside internationally-recognized faculty in real-world settings, experience the challenges that face the education system, and explore extensive field placements, technology and community-based learning, and progressive teaching methods. Graduates leave prepared for both the New York State Childhood (elementary grades 1-6) and Students with Disabilities (special education grades 1-6) teacher certifications.

The School of Education is a national leader in enhancing educational practice. A pioneer in the inclusion movement, the School of Education continues that tradition through its work to improve urban education.
