The inclusive early childhood special education major, a dual program between the School of Education and the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, prepares you for the teaching profession with a core of liberal arts coursework, a concentration in child and family studies, a professional education sequence, and significant field experience in a wide range of school settings.

Graduates leave well-prepared to work with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and are eligible for recommendation for certification in regular early childhood and students with disabilities (special education) from birth through grade 2.

Practical Experience

The program's coursework is supported by real-world learning opportunities.

Work with children at the Bernice M. Wright Child Development Laboratory School, an inclusive early childhood education program located on campus.

Learn more about early childhood programs and inclusive education in an international culture through travel to Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, Italy, South Africa, and the Galapagos Islands.
