M.S. in Telecommunications and Network Engineering(硕士)专业概况
The Master of Science in Network Engineering provides students with a fundamental understanding of the core concepts of network engineering. Students put these concepts into practice through extensive lab work that mimics real-world scenarios. As a result, graduates are equipped to adapt to new technology and ensure their organizations are always at the forefront of the industry.
Advances in technology have dramatically changed the networking industry. In recognition of the critical need for current and relevant professional education in this rapidly evolving field, the Lyle School of Engineering offers this professional program focused on the engineering, operation, and management of networks. The flexible curriculum prepares the student for technical and management roles in telecommunications, Internet and cloud service providers, equipment manufacturers, and enterprise/corporate organizations. It is offered both on- and off-campus via remote delivery systems.
The minimum credit hour requirement for the master’s degree in the Lyle School of Engineering is 30 credit hours beyond the baccalaureate, of which six credit hours may be in a thesis. Additional hours may be required depending on the student’s background, objectives of the degree program and the demands of the discipline.
In addition to meeting the Lyle School of Engineering degree requirements for an M.S. degree, candidates are required to satisfy these additional requirements:
1. Satisfactory completion of the core curriculum encompassing three courses:
EETS 7301 - Introduction to Networks
EETS 7302 - TCP/IP Network Administration
EETS 7304 - Network Protocols
EETS 8303 - Switching and Routing With Lab
2. Satisfactory completion of seven additional courses, four of which must be from the list of advanced electives. The seven courses may all be from the list of advanced electives; however, up to three additional electives can be substituted to fulfill degree requirements.

EETS 8337 - Telecommunications Network Management
EETS 8341 - Optical and DWDM Networks

The Online M.S. in Network Engineering relies on extensive lab requirements, ensuring students get hands-on experience with the latest software and strategies.
