Overview

The International Foundation Programme at Solent University is designed specifically to support you in the transition from an overseas High School education, to undergraduate study in the UK. Alongside language development units, you will also build your confidence and independence, developing your study skills. The inclusion of subject-specific pathways prepare you for your chosen subject area, enabling you to familiarise yourself with some of the theories and terminology that you can expect to encounter at undergraduate level.

This particular pathway develops your knowledge and skills in business and management, with particular focus on external business pressures and management theory.

WHAT WILL I STUDY

With substantial English language development support, this International Foundation Programme will enhance your confidence and independence, alongside building your study skills, fully preparing you for UK academic culture. The International Foundation Programme - Business and Management Pathway equips you with the essential skills to maximise your learning in a wide range of disciplines, from business and management to marketing and accounting.

Investigating the business world through multiple lenses, you will develop an understanding of the environment in which business operate and the role different functions within a business play. The pathway also introduces management theories practically, approaching business operations through the role of a manager.

WHAT YOU'LL STUDY

If you are studying the 2 Term programme, you will study Terms One and Two. If you are studying the 3 Term programme, you will study all Terms detailed below.

TERM ZERO
All units are 0 credits.

• Academic Communication – listening and speaking in an academic context
• Academic Communication – writing in an academic context
• Language in Context

TERMS ONE & TWO
All units are 20 credits, unless otherwise stated.
