With a B.A. in History you can prepare for a career as a curator, archivist, teacher, public servant, journalist, historian, and more as well as prepare for advanced education in law or teaching.

History majors study the past with a goal of influencing the future. Your learning will span the globe through a study of United States, European, and global history.

In this program you will:

Gain a sophisticated understanding of contemporary world problems and their historical roots
Develop critical reading, research, and writing skills
Learn the work habits needed for success in the 21st century workforce

As a graduate, you will be prepared for any career that requires deep reflection, analytical problem solving, and clarity of expression. Whether it is academia, museums, research institutions, government, or the media, you’ll receive intensive preparation to launch a variety of exciting careers. Through elective course, you can customize your experience to focus on your career interests and goals.

Students apply classroom learning in the field with a senior seminar that brings together all of the knowledge acquired and skills mastered throughout the program.

You will have the opportunity to conduct an internship at a variety of sites that match your career goals. You’ll gain resume-building experience and the opportunity to build your professional network ahead of graduation.

Applicants must have official academic records (transcripts or mark-sheets) of their high school transcripts/diploma and for each year of postsecondary education (college or university), as well as official copies of degrees awarded. Required Scores for TOEFL: A score of 79 on the Internet Based Test (IBT), 550 points on the Paper Based Test (PBT) or 213 or higher on the Computer Based Test (CBT) is required for unrestricted acceptance; Required Scores for IELTS: Applicants must present scores of at least 5.5 for general acceptance and 6.0 for nursing acceptance on the IELTS; and PTE (43). Some applicants may require higher test scores depending on educational background and program of entry.
