Do you want to gain real-world experience caring for patients in hospitals, clinics, and community settings? Or what about being trained in labs with high-fidelity simulators programmed to mimic complex medical scenarios like trauma, cardiac arrest, and airway obstruction? Or maybe you just have the desire to make a difference in a career that is about care giving and compassion.

As a School of Nursing student, you’ll gain confidence working in real-life scenarios. A degree in nursing will prepare you to provide preventive, acute and chronic health care services to patients in a variety of clinical settings such as:

  • Hospitals
  • Community Health Centers
  • Schools

The career path for today’s nurses stretches from patients’ bedside to corporate boardrooms - with opportunities to advance into treatment, education, management, and other professional tracks. Build that foundation at Rutgers. Our nursing major is grounded in the liberal arts and sciences and leads to a bachelor of science in nursing, the professional degree in the field. Rutgers trains its nurses in on-campus simulation laboratories and places them in hands-on clinical rotations at more than 50 hospitals and healthcare organizations. Rutgers graduates nurses who are critical thinkers, well equipped to pursue advanced education in nursing.
