Improve the world around you through social work. Learn how counseling, advocacy, and mediation can better quality of life for people and communities of all kinds.

What You’ll Learn

Help people from a range of backgrounds and experiences live better lives through counseling, advocacy, and mediation with the Behavioral Sciences-Sociology / Social Work, B.S. You’ll study different social systems—family units, gangs, religious cults, medical systems, and more—and how they’re impacted by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, and social class.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with field placement opportunities, as well as work side by side with full-time faculty on original research, presenting at regional and national conferences, as well as New York Tech’s Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression (SOURCE).

Courses are offered in a range of formats, from small groups in traditional classrooms, through distance learning across campuses and classrooms, and online.
