Science is everywhere. A general science degree will build your foundation in science, mathematics and technology so you can better understand the field and prepare for your future.

Choose from a range of courses to attain a general science education. Complete two of the following six concentrations to earn your degree:

Biology

Learn about the science of life in one of three areas: anatomy and physiology, cellular and molecular biology, or ecology and evolution.

Chemistry

Get a mix of classroom and practical laboratory instruction with a focus on organic chemistry, biochemistry or the study of molecular structures.

Geography

Take courses in either physical geography and conservation, or mapping and geographic information systems (GIS).

Geology

Explore different aspects of geology through courses in physical geology, paleontology, hydrogeology and others.

Mathematics

Build the tools you will need to understand the mathematical basis of all sciences. Take courses in algebra, calculus, modeling and statistics.

Physics

Study mechanics, waves and optics, and quantum mechanics.

You will be considered a high school applicant if you meet the following criteria: you are in your final year of high school, or you have left or completed high school, and you have completed fewer than eight post-secondary courses. English Language Score: Academic English (Level 3 Advanced) taken at Mount Royal Level 3 Advanced with B- (80%); TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 86 (min. 20 in each of four sections); IELTS (International English Language Test [Academic]) 6.5 (min. 5.5 on each band); CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) 70 (min. 60 in each band); MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) 85 (min. 3 in oral component); PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) 58 (min. 55 in each area); CAE (Cambridge English: Assessment) C1 or C2 Certificate Awarded (Pass at Grade C with min. 180 overall) and CanTEST (Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees) 4.5 overall minimum.
