Journalists tell multimedia stories that make a difference while holding powers to account. Learn how to produce and publish stories, ranging from investigative reports to sports, entertainment, science and human rights coverage. Blending theory and practice, you will gain new skills in reporting, interviewing, videography, photography, writing, editing, digital design, podcasting and online delivery. Working in our award-winning newsroom environment, you will be well prepared for creative careers in media and communications.

You will be considered a high school applicant if you meet the following criteria: you are in your final year of high school, or you have left or completed high school, and you have completed fewer than eight post-secondary courses. English Language Score: Academic English (Level 3 Advanced) taken at Mount Royal Level 3 Advanced with B- (80%); TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 86 (min. 20 in each of four sections); IELTS (International English Language Test [Academic]) 6.5 (min. 5.5 on each band); CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) 70 (min. 60 in each band); MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) 85 (min. 3 in oral component); PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) 58 (min. 55 in each area); CAE (Cambridge English: Assessment) C1 or C2 Certificate Awarded (Pass at Grade C with min. 180 overall) and CanTEST (Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees) 4.5 overall minimum.
