Renowned for its orchestral, wind, percussion, contemporary music, choral, opera, jazz, chamber and early music ensembles, the Schulich School of Music presents more than 750 concerts and events each year. Those are just some of the unique performance opportunities you'll have at Canada's largest music school. You’ll also benefit from five recording studios, two concert halls, recital halls, computer and digital composition labs, and a state-of-the-art music library, not to mention world-class research and production facilities. Your contact with leading professional musicians, arts organizations, research societies and music industry experts will provide extensive practical experience and prepare you for the demands of professional life.

Program Requirements

The Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) - Major Performance Voice program requires 90 credits (plus 33 credits for the Freshman requirement for out-of-province students).

123 credits are selected as follows:
33 credits - Prerequisite Requirements (for out-of-province students)

18 credits - Required Performance
19 credits - Complementary Performance
25 credits - Required Courses (Theory, Musicianship, Music History, and Diction)
8 credits - Complementary Musicianship and History/Literature
3 credits - Non-Music Electives
17 credits - Free Electives

Special Requirements:

Continuation in the program requires a minimum grade of B- in practical instruction/exams, ensembles, and voice coaching.

Other English Language Requirements accepted: Pearson Test of English (Academic) with the minimum score of 85; Cambridge English (Advanced) with a grade B or better ; or Cambridge English: Certificate of Proficiency in English with a grade C or better; MELAB SCORE OF 85 and Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) with overall score of 60.
