ABOUT THE COURSE

The Business Management and Marketing BA degree is a joint honours programme that will provide you with expertise in both disciplines, offering you a greater range of career opportunities on graduation. The variety of skills will make you an attractive contender for developing your management and leadership career.

As well as developing the skills and knowledge required for either a career in business management or as a professional marketer, the business management and marketing course will provide you with entrepreneurial skills and understanding that will allow you to start your own business.

TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT

You will be taught using variety of teaching methods including lectures, workshops and tutorials, totalling 9 to 12 hours per week. You are also expected to complete independent study totalling 28 to 31 hours per week.

In the Personal and Academic Development module, you will also have an opportunity to record your development in a Personal Development Planner (PDP). You will be asked to monitor those times when you use specific skills and the context in which they are experienced: study, work or personal, and you will be asked to consider the transferability of the skills developed in one context to other situations, which is what reflection is all about.

You’ll be assessed through a variety of methods such as coursework, portfolio work, problem-solving case studies, research projects and assignments based on business-related simulations.

On completion of this course you’ll have improved your career opportunities in commercial, third and public sector organisations. The course is the perfect preparation for entry into graduate schemes in business and marketing.
