What is the programme about?

The production of broadcast quality video and audio material forms the core of this programme. Technical competence is a pre-requisite, as emphasis is placed on higher level production values, as well as the technical and legal frameworks of the broadcast industry. Emphasis is also placed on advanced technical and production skills within the media production environment. Students will make extensive use of our new state-of-the-art recording studio complex, comprising of 4 full featured recording studios, many editing suites, broadcast studio and audio/video editing laboratories. Students will also have the opportunity to undertake professional pro-tools accredited exams during this programme.

Who is the programme suited to?

This is a Level 8 add-on programme for both the Music Technology and Production programme and the Video and Sound Technology programme.

Further Studies

​On successful completion of the programme, students are expected to be able to understand and apply current and emerging technologies in the field of Audio and Video Production.

Graduates will have detailed knowledge in the following areas: Audio and Video production, broadcast and copyright law, signal processing. Music Theory and Practice Graduates will be able to integrate this knowledge to solve day-to-day audio and video production problems. From project work experience, graduates will be able to apply themselves directly to the area of audio and video production.
