As a student in our School of Kinesiology you will study the science of human movement, physical activity, and their relationship to health, well-being and performance. Our multidisciplinary Kinesiology programs explore how the body moves by studying:

Additionally, you will learn about the psychological, sociological and cultural factors that influence physical activity in all populations. This breadth of study will teach you to work collaboratively as part of an inter-professional team to deliver the best quality of care in diverse healthcare settings.

Our balance of in-class and hands-on courses will provide you with the experience necessary to assess movement across the lifespan.

If you are interested in becoming a Registered Kinesiologist, our broad-based learning curriculum successfully prepares you to challenge the registration exam for the regulatory college license requirements to practice in Ontario.

Total enrolment in the Co-operative Education Program (Co-op) option is limited and the total number of students admitted is based in part on projected Co-op employment opportunities. Applicants interested in pursuing the Co-op Program Option may choose the Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology Co-operative Program Option when applying to Lakehead University. All students interested in participating in the Co-op program are required to complete a formal Co-op program and a Co-op Work Term Application Form (available from the Student Success Centre) by November 30th of Year 2 or Year 3 of the program. Second and third year students already enrolled in the HBK program who wish to enroll in the co-op program must complete a Request for Program Change Form through the Office of the Registrar. In addition, an essay indicating applicable past experience and a statement of interest is required with the Co-op Work Term Application.
