Students in Sociology at King`s learn about all facets of the human condition from leaders in their fields in small class settings as they discuss the linkages between individual experiences with the wider society. Our students develop a range of analytic, computer and communication skills that enhance their employability while simultaneously developing an enriched understanding of the social, cultural and historical forces that have helped shape the modern world. Students will learn to appreciate the tension between individual agency and the social forces at play that constrain how human beings behave in all spheres of life. Such learning creates skills communicators, researchers, and analysts who can enter the working world as imaginative thinkers with concrete technical abilities writing expertise, and critical thinking skills that are vital to being successful professionals.

For Ontario high school students a minimum 79% final entrance average is required. Averages are calculated on the top six 4U or 4M credits including English 4U. Academic transcript of Senior Secondary indicating all subjects taken and grades earned issued by the institution attended and submitted directly to Western by the issuing institution or the CDGDC. IELTS Academic is required with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0. Students must achieve a written TOEFL score of 580 or higher and a score of 4.5 on the TWE or a score of 85-90 on Internet Based Test (IBT) with no section less than 20. Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - A minimum overall score of 58 is required with no score less than 56.
