Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting

Accounting is at the core of every organisation, ensuring its financial viability. JCU has trained hundreds of qualified accountants and is strongly supported by the local accounting profession. Foundation subjects are complemented by specialist topics in; business modelling, financial management, auditing, law of business organisations, taxation, contemporary issues in accounting, performance management and control. JCU’s record of employability for accounting students is the second best result in Australia with only 15% of graduates still looking for full time work (Graduate Careers Australia).

Bachelor of Business, majoring in Business Intelligence and Information Systems

Business and government are increasingly embracing computing and information processing skills and techniques. JCU’s Bachelor of Business (B Bus) introduces students to business intelligence and problem-solving skills required across the broad spectrum of management environments likely to be encountered. Topics include web design and development, database management, data mining, information security and processing.

Bachelor of Business majoring in Hospitality & Tourism Management

The program covers fundamental principles underpinning management in the tourism and hospitality sectors and more specifically addresses issues encountered in the hospitality operations sphere, club and gaming management, and conference and event management environments. Students are encouraged to enhance their expertise with a second major in Management or International Business.

Bachelor of Business, majoring in International Business

International business is a rapidly growing area of study that deals with the development, strategy, and management of multinational enterprises in the global context and the dynamic international business environment. The course includes subjects in cross-cultural management, international business, multinational business finance, business negotiations, operations management, business research and international marketing.

Bachelor of Business, majoring in Management

Management roles are essential within all organisations. This major can be used as a launching pad for successful careers in business, government, and/or non-government sector management. Topics include; operations management, organisational behavior, managing people, project management, management accounting for non-accountants, management and leadership, and strategic entrepreneurship. For enhanced expertise, students may combine Management with a second major such as International Business or Hospitality and Tourism Management.
