This double degree is designed to enable students to develop their scientific curiosity and analysis with cultural understanding and creativity.

The course provides a global outlook on scientific knowledge and it will broaden students' understanding of themselves, their community and the larger world, to make a wider contribution to society. It is a challenging educational program, engaging in powerful communication and scientific inquiry, leading to a degree which is internationally recognised in the global marketplace.

Course Learning Outcomes

Apply broad discipline knowledge to a range of theoretical and technical/practical situations.

Communicate disciplinary knowledge and ideas clearly, coherently and with independence.

Demonstrate a global outlook with respect for cultural diversity, including Indigenous cultural competence.

Think creatively to anticipate challenges and generate solutions/responses.

Think critically to analyse, interpret and conceptualise/synthesise complex disciplinary knowledge/problems.

Use digital technologies and discipline related literacies to access, evaluate and synthesise relevant information from multiple sources.

Work collaboratively and demonstrate initiative to implement social, sustainable, and ethical values through appropriate disciplinary methods.

Course structure

Students are required to complete: 16 Arts units, comprising of 4 Core Arts units and a 12-unit Arts Major; plus 16 Science units, comprising of two 8-unit Science Majors.

This course will provide students with lifelong transferable skills, equipping them for employment in a wide range of professions.

Applicants must have National College Entrance Exam (Gao Kao) OR Successful completion of one year of tertiary study Standard Entry - A minimum of 65.6% of the overall score, Higher Entry - A minimum of 70% of the overall score. Minimum requirements for secondary school results can change, depending on the country where you completed secondary study. English Language Requirements accepted: Academic IELTS: An overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band less than 6.0; TOEFL: Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better; TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17; PTE Academic: PTE Academic 52, with no scores less than 50 for courses with a current requirement; University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced]: Pre-2015: A score between 52 - 57 with no less than 'Borderline' in any element of the test. Post-2015: An overall score of 169, with no individual band less than 169; or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 including TWE of 5.
