This programme provides you with the opportunity to study a range of modules with a strong Primary Education focus currently offered by the McMillan Faculty of Education. Successful completion of the course will enable you to enter a wide variety of education roles, including those outside of the school context. This one year, full-time route is Stage Three of the degree course. To study on this course you must have completed Stage One and Stage Two. This is an ideal course if you wish to eventually progress into a career in teaching. It has the advantage of offering you the opportunity to study educational issues before choosing to apply for a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) course. In addition, students can continue to work whilst studying. The course requires a one day per week commitment to attend taught sessions in College over three terms. Alternatively there is a part time study option available whereby students study over 4 terms, resulting in a less pressured course over a longer time span. Apart from the day per week taught session, the remainder of the study time is yours to organise as best fits with family, work, and your other commitments, making the course an ideal choice for students with busy life styles. During the course, you will also complete a dissertation on a subject of your choice related to education.
