Environmental science students explore the complex relationships between humans and the environment, drawing on a diverse range of disciplines. This is your opportunity to study some of the biggest challenges facing our planet.

You can study environmental science at both the BSc and BSc (honours) level. Acadia’s program is accredited by Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) Canada. It includes a core of courses at the first and second year levels in biology, earth science and chemistry, with a central theme of environmental science courses that provide a thread tying the other courses together. Focus areas in the four-year program may be designed to address your individual needs but can also be selected from ecology, conversation biology, environmental geoscience, environmental policy and sustainable development. The degree requires an intensive field course in environmental science and a thesis project for honours students. An award-winning co-op option is also available that lets you alternate work terms with study terms, meaning you can earn while you learn.

You will learn by doing as an environmental science student at Acadia. The program is multidisciplinary and offers small class sizes, excellent teaching facilities, state-of-the-art science labs, a university commitment to conduct research on the environment, and an engaged faculty. A close-knit community ensures that your will develop a strong network, which often continues long past graduation.

Acadia's English requirements are as follows: TOEFL - 90 IBT with no subtest score below 20, IELTS - 6.5 with no subtest score below 6.0, CAEL - 70 with no subtest score below 60, PTE Academic - 61 with no subtest score below 60, Cambridge English: Advanced - 176 with no subtest score below 169, MELAB – 80.
